Bring the Huckus

Our first official outdoor tournament of the Spring 2016 season offered beautiful sunshine (and wind), learning opportunities to practice new defensive formations, unexpected injuries (Lesson #1: Never take the temperature of tea for granted), forfeits (thanks, Yale!), and ultimately a little more hardware to take home. Senior captain Adriana Cvitkovic badly injured her foot during the first game on Satuday, taking her out for the remainder of the tournament. Suddenly short two of our regular handlers, we were forced to experiment with new defensive and offensive strategies. This allow players to test out new positions that they had never played (or in some cases, heard of). Everyone stepped up to carry us through the end of a tough tournament with an unusually small squad of sassy ladies. After a loss to University of New Hampshire (Sisters of Oriza!!!) in the universe point of the semi-final game, the Sneetches won against one of our favorite teams, the Messiah Mastodons (technically, now the Falcons, but if they don't support their new name, they will always be the Mastodons in our hearts). Many thanks to all who came out to play; we were quite impressed by the high level of spirited play at the tournament.
